The Wellcome Trust Liverpool Glasgow Centre for Global Health Research Annual Scientific Meeting took place in Chester from Sunday 14th to Wednesday 17th September 2014 at the Best Western Premier Queen Hotel. This 2.5 day event started on Sunday evening with an informal reception hosted by colleagues from the Glasgow Wellcome Trust Centre for Molecular Parasitology, which focussed on short informal introductions from a gathering of more than 40 delegates, followed by an enjoyable speed networking session.

The main conference event started on the Monday morning with the full number of over 140 delegates expected to arrive for a series of five themed sessions over 2.5 days that would include virology, parasitology, bacterial infections, inflammation & immunology and non communicable diseases.
